Electronic building permit system introduced in the Capital
As city authority officially introduced electronic building license system on Sunday, all the potential property owners in Kathmandu can now look for a structure construction permit online.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Kamal Thapa inaugurated the brand-new system, which is an e-governance initiative of Kathmandu Metropolitan City for effective implementation of National Building Code and city settlement management. Previously, it was being run as a pilot job in 14 wards of the metropolis.
The electronic building license system or e-BPS is a web-based application which permits users to send authorization applications and required files through municipality’s website, removing the headaches of prolonged documents, bureaucratic obstacles and regular sees to the municipality to track permit status. Alternately, the system also allows the municipality to inspect compliance of structures with set requirements and collect settlement data for prepared urbanization.
